Meyers Nave Principal Named a 'Top Employment Lawyer' by the Daily Journal

Oakland, CA – Meyers Nave announced today that Principal Arthur A. Hartinger has been named to the Daily Journal list of Top Employment Lawyers in California for 2010.

Mr. Hartinger chairs the firm’s Labor and Employment Practice Group. Widely recognized as a leading labor and employment attorney in California, he is frequently sought by public and private clients to represent them in complex state and federal litigation pertaining to all types of labor and employment issues, and in collective bargaining projects.

In his 25-year career, Mr. Hartinger has defended clients in class actions, writs and jury trials. His litigation practice also includes administrative and binding arbitration hearings before personnel boards, arbitrators and administrative law judges. Some of his clients include: the counties of Orange, Alameda, El Dorado, and Mendocino; the City and County of San Francisco; the cities of Long Beach, Stockton and San Jose; and the Santa Clara Valley Water District.

Mr. Hartinger successfully defended Orange County against a federal lawsuit brought by the Retired Employees Association challenging the County’s reform to its retiree medical program. The case was recently named a “Top Defense Verdict” by the Daily Journal. Mr. Hartinger has been designated a Northern California Super Lawyer each year since the inception of the award in 2004.
