Michael C. Hughes

Overview

Michael Hughes specializes in labor and employment law.  He is a member of the firm’s Labor and Employment Group and its Workplace Investigations Team.

Michael provides a broad range of labor and employment services to his clients, including counseling employers, conducting and managing internal investigations, and defending litigation.

Michael has represented public and private sector employers in all aspects of employment litigation including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, reasonable accommodation, contract disputes, and tort claims.  His administrative experience includes matters before the Public Employment Relations Board and the National Labor Relations Board.

Michael has an expertise in reasonable accommodation issues under the Americans with Disabilities Act and the Fair Employment and Housing Act.

Prior to joining Meyers Nave, he worked for an employee-side firm representing employees in wage and hour class actions, wrongful termination suits, and discrimination and harassment claims.  Michael brings his experience representing both employers and employees to his investigations practice.

In addition, Michael has represented pro bono clients in asylum proceedings and family-law matters.
