Jonathan A. Calegari

Overview

Jonathan (Jon) A. Calegari serves as an Assistant City Attorney for the City of Pittsburg and provides ongoing legal services to other public entities in California. 

Jon advises his clients on the full range of legal issues, such as public contracts and bidding, land use, the California Public Records Act, the Brown Act, and the Political Reform Act. He also drafts ordinances and resolutions as well as crafts agreements for such purposes as funding and constructing public improvements. 

Prior to joining Meyers Nave, Jon worked as Deputy County Counsel for the Office of the Santa Clara County Counsel. While at the County, he advised the Department of Revenue, the Valley Medical Center, and the Social Security Administration regarding their collection of outstanding debts; provided counsel to the Sheriff’s Office; and represented the County of Santa Clara in a California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA)/redevelopment lawsuit against a city. Additionally, he advised the County regarding First Amendment issues associated with the use of social media. 

Jon is admitted to practice law before the U.S. District Courts in the Central and Northern Districts of California and the U.S. Bankruptcy Courts in the Central and Northern Districts of California.
