Hannibal Paul Odisho
Overview
Hannibal Odisho practices complex litigation in the areas of labor and employment law; wage and benefit matters, Pitchess motions, and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). He authors amicus briefs and has successfully defended numerous cases, often resolving them before trial commences.
Prior to joining Meyers Nave, Hannibal worked at the City of San Jose City Attorney’s office. He was involved in multifaceted litigation, municipal code violations and public employee grievance arbitrations. Due to these matters, Hannibal is well-versed in the review of recent court decisions and federal, state and local legislation, and their impact on public agencies. Hannibal has also volunteered his expertise, providing free legal advice to low-income clients in labor and employment matters.
As legal counsel to a commercial real estate development business, he has assisted in the acquisition and development of commercial retail properties. He has met with municipal planning, public works, and building departments, as well as participated in city council, commissioner, and citizen hearings for the issuance of permits.
Hannibal was awarded the “Best Orator Award” in 1997 while attending the University of California at Berkeley. He also received the honor of serving as a judge in the Appellate Advocacy Competition while a law student at the Ohio State University Moritz College of Law.
Hannibal is fluent in Assyrian.
